Chapter 19 closes with Christ coming to the earth again in what we describe as, His “Second Coming”. At this point, one might expect to read something about Babylon’s destruction. Yet, the Book of Revelation jumps to the Millennial Reign of Christ without even a hint of Babylon’s destruction!

So what of Babylon’s destruction?! Isaiah chapter 21 is the only possible explanation of what may have happened.

Even though nothing is recorded in The Book of Revelation about Babylon’s destruction, Isaiah 21 gives us a profound understanding of what that destruction will look like when it comes on the Babylon of Revelation. We already know too, what we read in Isaiah 21 is amplified in The Book of Revelation because her destruction is mixed double!

Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 give us much more insight as to who Gog is. Ezekiel gives us great amounts of information about what they intend for the world in a prophecy. Being prophecy, it is about events that are both yet to come soon, as well as in the distant future of the time this prophecy is spoken. Therefore, it would appear Ezekiel’s prophecy is fulfilled here in Revelation 20:7-10.

Magog was settled in a larger land owned by the Scythians. The Scythians were an extremely, violent group and owned most of present day Georgia, the Southern tongue of Russian, at the very least, and much of Kazakhstan as well as Northern Turkey.

Gog is thought to be a personality in The Land of Magog. However, Meshech, Gog, and Magog settled a strong Southern border on the land of Thogarma just North of the Ararat region. This was South-East of the Black Sea and due West of the Caspian Sea.

Remember that those of us saved unto salvation in Christ, who were Raptured, were already judged in the judgment seat of Christ and have returned to earth with Him.

The first five verses open with a continuation of the context established in chapter 18. Then… Revelation 19:6-7 reads, “[6] Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting: ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the All-Powerful, reigns! [7] Let us rejoice and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready!’”.

Notice the pattern in The Book of Revelation. We have the Letters to the Seven Churches. Then the “church” or churches, disappear from The Book of Revelation. We see things go bad and then!, from bad to worse. Then, from worse to unspeakable! Now, the church returns to the heavenly scene, IN HEAVEN!, as a great multitude in Revelation 19:1 and verse 6.

Who is this multitude? Is it only The Bride of Christ as we presently understand? Is it The Bride of Christ and all those martyred in The Tribulation thus far? Is The Bride of Christ a group among others who will not be wed to the Lamb? Will anymore be joining these in heaven before this all ends?

Here, in the opening of chapter 19, we see that the, judgment, of Babylon is complete. It appears Babylon is still alive and well. This, despite the fact, it reads like a done deal.

What does it mean, “His bride has made herself ready”? It involves the Bema. It is the judgment seat of Christ where the saints are judged for their lives on earth. While our punishment was removed in our salvation, nonetheless!, we do face a judgment.

We can think of this Bema Judgment as a final washing of our clothes. Getting the dirt out. Think of this as putting on our bright, clean, fine linen. This judgment is about more than our reward. It is also about being fully clean before God and our Bridegroom, Christ… The Lamb. Notice what we read in Revelation 19:8 which reads, “‘She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints).”

One thing we know is that, at this point, Babylon has not fallen nor has it been destroyed. It would seem its destruction is immanent but still waiting to occur. Yet, the language is past tense which clearly indicates it is a done deal. What’s up with that?!

“Babylonia, a small Amorite-ruled state emerged in 1894 B.C., which contained the minor administrative town of Babylon. It was merely a small provincial town during the Akkadian Empire (2335–2154 B.C.) but greatly expanded during the reign of Hammurabi in the first half of the 18th century B.C. and became a major capital city. Babylonia briefly became the major power in the region after Hammurabi.” ~Wikipedia

In verse 2, as I mentioned in my opening comments, we see the phrase, “Fallen, fallen, is Babylon, the great!”. I also mentioned that this language was found previously in Revelation 14:8. So we need to ask the question, why it is repeated? Didn't Babylon fallen in Revelation 14?

“The city and the Harlot are given the same title: “Babylon the Great”. The Harlot is not some separate entity, but the city itself. She is called great because of her power and commercial splendor, but also because she thought herself to be great. She was built… on… p-r-i-d-e.”. ~A Testimony of Jesus Christ Commentary

This is why we see the phrase repeated. Babylon’s destruction has yet to occur. It seemingly occurs in Revelation 18:4-24. However, there is a mix of both descriptive and literal language. In this case, and others like it, we need to be especially careful as to how we read and understand this chapter.

If you read Revelation as literal language only, you will never understand this book. For reading it literally and trying to reason what you are reading will obliterate any comprehension of the miraculous and supernatural. We, like John, will struggle to explain and therefore use more of a descriptive language often using the phrase, “It is like”. We must not let our lack of understanding preclude and eclipse our faith.

The Great Prostitute or Harlot in some translations, is used by many who interpret, preach and teach, to say the great prostitute or harlot is the Catholic Church. They base their assertions solely in the colors, adornment and other imagery set forth here. The Great Prostitute first!, is more in keeping with the characteristics of Babylon than the Catholic Church. While the real Babylon has been gone for some time, it’s immoral influences have lived for centuries.

Symbolically, the beast has given the great prostitute a seat in its government much like the religious role found in dual governing roles such as a Theocracy. For clarity… While not religious, the great prostitute would serve as the religious influence of an evil Theocracy. The scarlet beast would serve as the political ruling force. Whether a religious leader or the great prostitute, both serve as the attraction to the political force and rule. The beast, therefore, uses the great prostitute as the attraction for the earth dwellers to come under his rule.

Babylon offered such an appealing lifestyle, especially!, to those with little or no religious and / or moral conviction. So to make connections to the Catholic Church being this great prostitute is not consistent with the flow of interpreting this passage. I am not saying that the Catholic Church does not have a role in things here but, we really need to be careful of accusing the Catholic Church of having a role, or roles, in The Tribulation Period it really does not.

Revelation 17:8 should sound familiar. “[8] The beast you saw was, and is not, but is about to come up from the abyss and then go to destruction.”. Now lets read, Revelation 1:8 “‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God – the one who is, and who was, and who is still to come – the All-Powerful!”. [Q] Can you see how closely the Antichrist is a counterfeit of the real thing which!, is Christ? The clear distinction is the one “who was, and is not, but is about to come”, comes from the abyss and not heaven. He also arrives to go to his destruction. [Q] Why? Because the one “who is, and who was, and who is still to come” is All-Powerful! He is sovereign and is in full and ultimate control. This is the ultimate wheat and tare distinction.

Revelation 17:9 reads, “[9] (This requires a mind that has wisdom.) The seven heads are seven mountains the woman sits on. They are also seven kings:…”. Yet another thing this Great Prostitute sit on! She sits on waters, a scarlet beast, and now… seven heads that are seven mountains which, really are seven kings! Seven rulers of countries.

Revelation 16:15-16 which reads, “[15] (Look! I will come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays alert and does not lose his clothes so that he will not have to walk around naked and his shameful condition be seen.) [16] Now the spirits gathered the kings and their armies to the place that is called Armageddon in Hebrew.”. Is this when the Rapture occurs? Have we been wrong all this time about the Rapture preceding the Tribulation period?!

It is not about the Rapture when we examine these two verses more fully. Notice what Revelation 16:15 also says, “Blessed is the one who stays alert and does not lose his clothes so that he will not have to walk around naked and his shameful condition be seen.”. The naked and shameful condition here is one’s original sinful state of being.

With regard to being saved and then having to face The Tribulation Period, I have to ask the question, Why does this make sense? Christ saves me from all my sin. He provides forgiveness at the mere asking for it post-salvation. Meaning, every sin I now commit, I have instant forgiveness, for the mere asking for it. He sees me in my perfected state because my spirit is that perfected state restored by my salvation in Him. I am so sinless in His sight I am referred to as white as snow; wearing garments of fine white linen. If the Law is satisfied in Christ’s death and resurrection, and I am completely forgiven of my sin past, present and future, then how is it I still await further judgment and punishment in The Tribulation?

I believe that the City, representative of Babylon, has already been destroyed per Revelation 14:8 which reads, “A second angel followed the first, declaring: ‘Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great city! She made all the nations drink of the wine of her immoral passion.’”. So it appears to me we are now talking about the spirit of Babylon that like a wine has deluded so many and caused them to enjoy, be drunk with!, the life that is rebellion to God.

The Gospel, the Good News of Christ, is and always will be triumphant. Regardless of how dark the world gets in this life, until we are Raptured, we can allow our hearts to rest in the assurance of God’s triumph. He is all victorious! Yes, life for us here may defy the teachings on the promises of God. Let me ask you this though, when are those promises fulfilled?

Many today feel they are not seeing the promises of God fulfilling in their lives. With that view, how much more so, could it be said, in the days of The Tribulation?! Yet, The Tribulation, His judgment and His wrath are the fulfillment of His promises! He promised that not finding Him in the salvation of His Son would bring upon such individuals His judgment and wrath.

Up until now… we have been seeing the judgment and wrath of the Lamb, Jesus. Then we found a “Mid-Trib” interlude starting with the ascension of the Two Witnesses. We then found the 144,000 were also in heaven. It would then seem that a final opportunity, a voice from God the Father Himself through an angel with an eternal Gospel, is put out to show His mercy in judgment; His desire that none should perish. The only witness left on the earth are the remaining saints that had an ear and heard. But wait!… Were they not caught-up in the harvest?!

Revelation chapter 15 transports us from the “Mid-Trib”, closing in chapter 14, to the final many months, weeks, days, and hours of The Tribulation Period. We read that God’s anger is complete. In brief summary, the wrath and anger of the Lamb has been executed and is concluding, if it has not concluded already. Then the wrath and anger of the Father is executed signaling we are now in the second 3 ½ years of the Tribulation period. Where exactly can only be speculated.

A Testimony of Jesus Christ Commentary reads, “The accomplishment of the Harvest and the Vintage [Revelation 14:14-20] brings [us] to the end of this present world. The next in succession would be the setting up of the eternal Kingdom, and the evolution of the new heavens and earth. But the Harvest and the Vintage do not adequately set forth all that we need to know about these closing scenes. Further particulars included in this momentous period require to be shown in order to complete the picture.”

Chapter 16 is about to reveal some of the most ugly happenings on and in the earth ever since it was first created.

First one-third was destroyed and now the remaining two-thirds are destroyed for complete destruction! Can you see why it was so important to have an ear and hear as in Chapter 13:9?! That may well have been anyone’s last chance.

If you read Revelation as literal language only, you will never understand this book. For reading it literally and trying to reason what you are reading will obliterate any comprehension of the miraculous and supernatural. We, like John, will struggle to explain and therefore use more of a descriptive language often using the phrase, “It is like”. Our home studio is open again and we are gearing up for the remainder of The Book of Revelation to close this series.

:: We want to let all our listeners know we are near another episode deletion cycle. Our host’s server at Pod-O-Matic starts to slow down. Since load times that delay the presentation of our content to all our visitors is unacceptable, we need to delete some of our content. Please download any episode you have not heard. Deletion will take place the week of October 15th. ::

I hope you were able to get past the background noise of last week’s ambient live recording of Brother Henry’s message, “Know Your Purpose”. Brother Henry is one of many fine brothers and sisters I serve God with at the House of Supernatural Encounters. If you have not heard it yet, give it a listen.

We now have a sub-domain at site123.com. Our new Web site is mobile, tablet and desktop compliant. Our new Web site link is: https://unchurched.site123.me. Here we will post blogs, our most current Pod-Cast series only, and provide other content that the Pod-Cast domain does not permit due to limitations and format.

We have decided on our Social Media platform. We will be signing up with Diaspora. This will happen when we are finished working on the quality of our sound.

This update was recorded using our new Behringer UMC-22 Audio Interface. We are now producing the expected quality level of my recorded voice. Both my condenser microphone and the Behringer UMC-22 have noise floors at -127db. To us, that’s quiet! So we are glad we could make this great improvement.

Some portions of our Pod-Cast are prerecorded now. It makes sense to prerecord repeated sections that do not change often. We update these sections as needed.

Next week we will continue in The Book of Revelation. We will pick-up where we left off with the seven plagues and the seven bowl judgments. The end of the Tribulation period is insight.

Welcome to all our new listeners, returning listeners and followers to this week’s special presentation, “Know Your Purpose” presented by special guest speaker, Brother Henry from The House of Supernatural Encounters.

Our home studio will be closed as my wonderful Wife and I enjoy our 36th Wedding Anniversary! Please enjoy this great young man in the Lord, Brother Henry.

Brother Henry is a fine young man and Brother in the Lord. He has a great command of God’s Word for man of his youth. I am proud to promote him on this Pod-Cast! I am also looking forward to sharing some of what God is putting on the hearts of our other fine men and women at our great church in Stow, Massachusetts, “The House of Supernatural Encounters”.

This is a live ambient recording. There is some background noise as a result. I have worked hard with very limited software to clean it up. However, while better than it was, it still has background noise that, for some listeners, may be difficult. Please press through that, especially up front as the children move to their area for children’s church.

If you listen to the full episodes of this Pod-Cast, you know I promote The House of Supernatural Encounters. Brother Henry is just one of the many bright lights in God’s Kingdom as to why I am happy to serve in this church and promote it. If you have not visited, you should visit at least once. Better still, give us a month of Sundays, that’s 30 weeks, to change your mind about church in New England and church family.

Revelation 14:4 explains what is happening in the first three verses. It reads, with reference to the 144,000, “[4] These are the ones who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from humanity as first-fruits to God and to the Lamb,”. So there it is, the 144,000 in total!, are redeemed from humanity here in the “Mid-Trib” or maybe a bit earlier than the “Mid-Trib” point. With verse one, we see that they had to have been translated, Raptured, redeemed from humanity, and are all present in heaven.”

At this point we should fully understand, there are no more witnesses on the earth. God has shown mercy in judgment as scripture says He does. The two witnesses and the 144,000 are all in heaven. At this point, if there is an ear that would hear, there is no one to speak to that “one”. However, we will see that God has one last method to deliver the message of salvation through the pronouncement of the eternal Gospel. One last offer to be rescued from the latter half of the Tribulation.”

Look at Revelation 14:12 which says, “[12] This requires the steadfast endurance of, the, SAINTS! – those who obey God’s commandments and hold to their faith in Jesus.”. What is up with that?! What saints? Was there not a Rapture?! If there really was a Rapture, why are we reading about the saints in The Tribulation? Have not all those who received Christ in the Tribulation, gone to heaven now with The Two Witnesses and 144,000 when the Two Witnesses and the 144,000 were caught-up, translated, or ascended to heaven?”

With the expedience and command of dispatch that Angels, messengers of God, execute their charge, so we too, are like the Angel with the eternal Gospel here in Revelation 14:6-7. As that Angel dispatched his charge without delay, we too, without excuse should dispatch our charge with regard to spreading the good news of the eternal Gospel in our here and now.

It should first be noted that there are two subjects to this account in Revelation 14:13-20. One is a harvest, the other is about the enemy and his fruits of his labor being crushed! This reaping could also be a plausible case for a “Mid-Trib” Rapture account. However, it is those who in this nightmare had an ear, who heard, and have received Christ as Lord and Savior of their life.

In Revelation chapters 2-3 we read about the Seven Churches which all resided in what was once known as Asia Minor and is today known as Turkey. Now, a predominantly Muslim country. When we read about these Seven Churches we find some advice… “The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”.

Isn’t it interesting that in each specific letter to any individual church the admonishment reads, “…hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”, plural Is it possible that, in those days and churches, a person in Thyatira could realize the same victory as a person in Sardis or any other of the seven churches?! The admonishment is in the plural which, adds credence to this notion.

Tribulation-Based believers, those who find Christ in the Tribulation period, must heed Revelation 13:9 which reads, “[9] If anyone has an ear, he had better listen!”. Notice here, there are no conditions as there was to The Seven Churches. It is a straight admonishment.

It makes me wonder, if in all the previous times this admonishment was put forth, is this that one time; is it that last time; that can change a person’s life forever, if at this point, it is or is not heeded?

Last week the first beast rose out of the sea. This beast rises out of the land. Remember, we have learned when these things occur in the land and sea, or the sea and land together, it notes a global issue. These two beasts work in a global dominance. Notice how this second beast sounds like it has an A-n-t-i – Christ character! Doing similar miracles! But!, for evil purposes only!

At this point, it will make pure and logical sense to take this mark, 6-6-6. To those still lost and without God in this Tribulation period, it represents safety, social order, and financial stability.

In Revelation 13, many of the unsaved willingly will give up whatever they believe they need to so they can once again live under the perceived umbrella of safety. They have no idea of what will come still which!, will violate that sensibility and perception of safety with profound horror.
